123 Auto is a licensed Gateway Vehicle Inspection Program (GVIP) station. We're authorized to perform safety and emissions inspections in Missouri. In Missouri, most vehicles are required to undergo a safety inspection once every two years unless the vehicle is within its first 5 model years or meets another exemption rule. Residents living in certain areas are also required to get smog and emissions testing in addition to the safety inspection.

For many drivers, an MO state inspection is a two-part process that consists of the Safety Inspection and Emissions Inspection. The Safety Inspection includes checking your: headlights, turn signals, horn, brake system, steering mechanism, all window glass, windshield wipers, and more.
During the Emissions Inspection, special equipment is used to read your On-Board Diagnostic System (OBD). If you're within legal emission levels, then your vehicle passes the test.

Passing: After your vehicle passes the MO state inspection, you'll be able to complete your registration. Our emissions station will provide you with a new windshield sticker and an official report certifying you have passed. A passing inspection is only good for 60 days after the inspection date, so make sure to register your vehicle shortly after.
Failing: You'll receive a report that shows why the inspection didn't pass. You will need to have your vehicle repaired by a Missouri Recognized Repair Technician and re-tested. You are entitled to one free re-inspection at the station you originally tested at within 20 business days (not including weekends and holidays) of the date paid.
